Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day

Today was a Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day. Today was round 3 of real men racing at the CU Research Park. I know this place. I spend a couple of months there during the summer racing short-track. I know it well, but I'm SICK of it! It's probably not the right approach. I should embrace it. Tell myself how much I like it. How it favors me. But it's all just lies and I glad we're done with it.

The race it self went well for about 10 minutes. Ahhh, but CX is 45 minutes of misery and if you don't have your head on straight and your game face on your done before you begin. That was today. Done before I began.

You start out by working it with others. Using them. Before they use you and hit the dump button.

Oh those nasty climbs. The loose dirt. They sent me into the red zone every time. Note to self -- need to add hill repeats to the plan.

Then your left to suffer by yourself. One should never suffer alone.

But we soilder on. Live to fight another day. The battle was lost today, but the war is far from over. October is almost here and it's time to turn it up.

A special thanks to my bride of eight years for the awesome photos!

Let's just agree that this race never happened.
