Seduction Zone
So, it's finally officially spring. I've been dusting off the cob webs from my long winters nap. I’m starting to ride a little more consistantly, albeit mainly for fun. Weight lifting has been going well and I can feel the improvements. The chat on the e-mail lists are starting to heat up. "Anyone doing the crit this Saturday?" "How bout some TT practice?" "Registration is filling up fast!" It happens every year. Even though it's technically my off-season, all of the talk starts to pull me in. The little voice inside of me starts talking to me, seducing me. "Why don't you join the rest of your team for that crit up north?" "Hey, isn't the Koppenburg coming up soon?" "I bet you could hang in that race." "Don't worry about the fact you haven't ridden much since December, you're strong!" And so it goes on and on. Of course the voice of reason try's to fight it off. It says all the right things, but it's so dang hard to listen to it. It's right, of course. But, will I listen? Only time will tell.
